A character's occupation says a lot about who they are. It can define their morals and values, stem from a past wound, hint at their highest aspiration, or highlight a talent or skill. Occupations should also help (or hinder) the character as they strive to achieve their goals. As such, they need to be chosen deliberately. Use this thesaurus to brainstorm viable career choices for your cast that will provide characterization and strengthen your story.
