EXAMPLES:
Being kidnapped and held for ransom
Being held kept captive for an extended period of time
Being captured and sold into slavery
Being kidnapped by one's biological parent or other relative to start a new life elsewhere

WOUND CATEGORY:
Crime and Victimization, Traumatic Events

BASIC NEEDS OFTEN COMPROMISED BY THIS WOUND:
safety and security, love and belonging, esteem and recognition, self-actualization

LIES THAT MAY DEVELOP FOR CHARACTERS WITH THIS WOUND:
They're an easy mark, a target. People will always try to victimize them
They'll never be the same, never be whole
The others didn't make it out; they shouldn't have either
Their captor wasn't all bad. (Stockholm syndrome)
Their judgment is faulty and can't be trusted (if they believe they were at fault)
The only person they can trust or count on is themselves.
Specific beliefs caused by a captor's brainwashing: No one loves them, they deserve to be punished, etc.
