HELPFUL TIP:

A deeply embedded fear often stems from trauma, so it can be helpful to explore emotional wounds that may be a factor. Your character might also become risk-averse, which can create problems in their relationships and limit their fulfillment. And for a character to achieve their story goal, they must overcome any fear-based thinking that's holding them back. The Character Builder is a great resource for pulling all these factors together.
NOTES:
No matter how strong and resourceful a character is, someone or something will be higher up the food chain—a wild animal, person, alien life-form, or supernatural creature. It may be hard to imagine being in someone's crosshairs, but for some characters, the risk to their survival is so intense, they live in fear of being caught.

WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE:
Being on high alert all the time
Being very observant of their surroundings and those they encounter
Heightened safety protocols
Living in a place where the predator is unlikely to be (in a remote area off the grid, surrounded by people in a densely populated neighborhood, underground, etc.)
Moving frequently to avoid detection
Dressing and acting forgettable; doing nothing to call attention to themselves
Being as self-sufficient as possible
Carrying a weapon
Learning self-defense
Educating themselves about the person or creature who could be following them
Attempting to be undetectable (staying off social media, avoiding surveillance cameras, paying for everything in cash, etc.)
Avoiding relationships and connections
Varying their routines so it's harder for someone to track them
Working jobs that pay in cash
Being wary of strangers
Having an obscure, untraceable communication method to stay in touch with supporters
