Conflict is your story’s secret sauce, supplying tension, friction, and complications to a character’s journey. It comes in a million different forms, so identify the obstacles and problems that will hit your character the hardest by using the Character Builder to uncover their primary insecurities, fears , and desires. Making a substantial financial investment without understanding the tax ramifications

Making a bet that's supposed to be a sure thing and losing big\

MINOR COMPLICATIONS:
Losing money that will have to be re-earned
The character having to explain a financial loss to their spouse
Friction with the family member who owes the character money
Having to find a second job to get the money back quickly
Being stuck with unwanted goods the character can't resell
Having to make changes to save money, such as bringing lunch to work, giving up a gym membership, or walking instead of taking a cab
A strained relationship with the friend the character went into business with
The character lying to friends or family about the investment
The character blaming others for their misfortune
Having to put time and energy into reducing the fallout (stepping in to save a failing business, rebuilding trust with people caught in the crossfire, seeking advice on what to do, etc.)
Harboring anger toward the person who gave them the advice or pulled them into the investment
Having to take legal action against someone who has broken the law
