Settings should always be chosen with care. Consider the emotion you want your viewpoint character to feel and how setting choices, weather elements, and symbolism might build a specific mood in the scene, create tension and conflict, or even raise the stakes.
SIGHTS:
A facility enclosed by chain link fences
Concrete or cinder block holding cells consisting of wall benches, a toilet, a narrow window, and sturdy furnishings
Metal doors with rust marks and scratches
Bunk beds or rows of cots against graffiti-marked walls 
A stainless steel commode and sink
Thin mattresses on squeaky springs
One set of sheets, a pillow, and a plain blanket
A storage locker for standard issue clothing (scrubs, jumpsuits, t-shirts, sweatsuits, socks, boxers, sneakers or slip-on shoes, identification bracelets, etc.)
Isolation rooms with bare walls, no furniture, locking doors, and video cameras
An intercom system and security cameras throughout the facility
A posted (very strict) daily schedule
Recreation areas such as a basketball court, a grassy or concrete outdoor area, basic workout equipment, and a garden or small green space
An infirmary with nurses or doctors on duty
A library containing books, supervised computers, and tables for reading and studying 
A kitchen (basic appliances, pots and pans, stainless steel countertops, staff preparing meals in large quantities, etc.)
An eating area with bench seating, long tables, and cafeteria-style food on trays
A multipurpose recreation room consisting of worn couches, tables and chairs, and TVs mounted to the wall
A visiting area where residents meet with family
